Valorant Shuffles: Hazed leaves TSM to join NRG and G2 may do a roster change

The sudden announcement for hazed caught fans by surprise, and G2 plans for the future.

New plans are afoot for many teams in the VALORANT scene, as the year comes to a close and 2022 looms over everyone. While the teams heading for Champions prepare themselves for the biggest VALORANT event in the calendar, other teams are making plans to prepare themselves for the VCT 2022 season.

NRG

Hazed has joined NRG as their new team member. The announcement was on the back of an announcement by TSM that he was leaving the team.

2021 was not a good season for NRG; they hope that with the signing of hazed their luck will be better in the upcoming season. He is known as an excellent in-game leader; NRG is leaning on this to have the team achieve better results next year.

Hazed was formerly a CS:GO player who moved to VALORANT in 2020 to play with mouzeSpaz before joining TSM in the middle of 2020. With TSM, he was instrumental to the team’s win at the NA VCT Stage 3 Challengers 2, where they won against FaZe Clan 3-1. Unfortunately, they lost to Team Envy and Rise in the playoffs.

NRG, currently ranked 12th in the NA standing, has struggled to break into the top league before; with hazed onboard, their luck might just turn around for the better. The new NRG roster is as follows:

Neil ‘neilzinho’ Finlay, the head coach of G2 Esports’ Valorant division, shared that the team may be looking to revamp their roster in the offseason due to clashing roles in the team. Their recent run for Champions was not their best, with them finishing third in the EMEA Last Chance Qualifiers just behind Team Liquid and Guild Esports.

Neil appeared on Lembo6’ Twitch channel, where he commented on multiple topics, including the possibility of a roster shakeup for G2. He expressed his dislike for roster changes, but he admitted that the current setup is less than optimal because of role clashes in the team.

“As a coach, I hate changing players. We’ve made four changes, five changes, it’s really hard to work with that. For me, the most important thing is stability.

“But with the roles that we have right now, it’s hard. Someone needs to make a big sacrifice and play a role that maybe they don’t want to play. It’s going to be hard with this team if there isn’t a chance.

“But as a coach, I don’t want to make any more changes. I just want to work with five players who have the same goal and the same motivation, which is to be the best team.

“Whatever happens in G2 for 2022, it’s going to be the best for everyone.”

Neil also later shared on social media that he is looking for a new home for 2022 as his contract expires at the end of next month.
