Player Spotlight: Stoop, just doing what he gotta do

In this series from GosuGamers, we are going to help introduce some of the best players that Overwatch already has to offer. Because of the arena shooter scene, many of the current top players have been competing in a variety of similar games over the years. This is especially true for the current no. 4 team on our GosuRankings: Team EnVyUs. These player profiles will provide you information on previous competitive history (including team history) as well as a short highlight of the player's Overwatch preferences.

Gaming History

Stoop is both one of the core members of Team EnVyUs as well as one of the newer members of this group of friends. Stoop first met the original Team Hubris when playing Nosgoth back in 2014, when he played for The Stealthy Green Toupees. TSGT were the second best team, and because of the size of the scene Stoop soon found himself in contact with and playing with some of the Hubris guys in Team At.

Before Faraaz met Hubris, he dabbled in a lot of other games. Playing both competitively and casually, Stoop filled his time with games such as Soldier Front, Team Fortress 2, Dirty Bomb, CS:GO and many more. He also built up experience with a number of MOBAs and MMOs, both of which don't hurt in a cooldown-based game like Overwatch.

Besides recent addition Buds, Stoop was one of the last members to start playing for Hubris in Overwatch. He did not get into the beta as fast as some of his teammates, but still showed dedication for the game and his friends by putting in a lot of time analyzing scrims and providing feedback. This is why he was the clear and only replacement when Chump had to stop playing due to lack of available time.

At the start of competitive Overwatch, Stoop was destined to play Reinhardt and Reinhardt alone. Currently however, a lot of tanks are played and sometimes not a single tank is played at all. This is why Stoop has had to play a number of different heroes, making him both the main Tank player but also more of a Flex. For a while Winston was the top tank but then his shield was nerfed. Reinhardt made a return because of that, and even his favourite hero (Zarya) was played for a short time until her ability to shield allies was nerfed. At the moment of writing, the last tournament EnVyUs participated in was the GosuGamers Overwatch Weekly NA #7. In this tournament, Stoop played Reinhardt, D.Va but also Soldier: 76 and even a lot of Zenyatta. The current situation of Tanks is uncertain, but EnVyUs has the lineup to play whatever composition is the best in part because of Stoop.
