Keeping a Duolingo streak alive now comes with Primogems.
HoYoverse, the developer of popular action RPG games Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero, is doing something a little out of the ordinary with its latest Genshin Impact crossover, teaming up with language-learning app Duolingo for a limited-time event that ties daily lessons directly into in-game rewards.
Instead of a typical web event or login bonus, this collaboration lives inside the Duolingo app. Paimon joins the green owl Duo, alongside Sumeru favourites Tighnari and Cyno, encouraging players to keep a learning streak alive in exchange for Primogems and exclusive cosmetics in Genshin Impact.
A trailer was also released alongside the announcement:
How to participate in the Genshin Impact x Duolingo event
Running from 8 to 27 December, the Genshin Impact x Duolingo 3-Day Streak Quest is available to users in select regions. The idea is straightforward: keep your Duolingo streak going for three days in a row, and Genshin Impact will reward you for the effort.
From 8 December, players and learners can unlock the “Genshin Impact Quest” in any Duolingo course. Completing one unit lesson per day for three consecutive days keeps the streak active, and progresses the event. As learners move through their lessons, Paimon, Tighnari, Cyno, and Duo show up in the app, cheering on progress along the way.
Finish the streak, and the app awards a collectible in-app statue featuring Paimon and Duo. More importantly for players, completing the quest also unlocks a reward code for Genshin Impact.
Those rewards include the avatar “Diligent Study”, the namecard “Celebration: Dream Reader”, Primogems, and a Sumeru-inspired food item called “Spiced Fried Chicken”, complete with its in-game recipe.
Reward codes can be claimed from the “Shop” page in the Duolingo app until 31 December 2025 at 7:59:59 AM SGT / 31 December 2025 at 12:59:59 AM CET / 30 December 2025 at 3:59:59 PM PST. Once claimed, the codes must be redeemed in Genshin Impact by 31 January 2026 at 11:59:59 PM SGT / 31 January 2026 at 4:59:59 PM CET / 31 January 2026 at 7:59:59 AM PST.
The crossover lands shortly after the release of Genshin Impact Version Luna III, which introduced Durin, a new 5-Star Pyro character with dual battle forms, and opened up a new story chapter set in Nod-Krai.
The Genshin Impact x Duolingo 3-Day Streak Quest will be available in select regions only, with availability varying by location. 25 December is the final day for learners to join the event and still earn rewards. Players can check regional participation details directly in the Duolingo app, with more information available here.
