The biggest fighting game tournament announced an excellent mix of lineups with Street Fighter 6's debut leading the headline.

The Evolution Championship Series 2023 (or EVO 2023) marks the tournament's second year as a Sony-organised event. The highly anticipated championship is returning this year with a bang by bringing 8 thrilling fighting games to Las Vegas this August 4 to August 6, at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

The 8 titles that will be featured at Evo 2023 are:

Street Fighter 6 - PS4 (Capcom)
Guilty Gear Strive - PS4 (Arc System Works)
Mortal Kombat 11: Ultimate - PS4 (Warner Bros. Games)
Tekken 7 - PS4 (BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment)
The King of Fighters XV - PS4 (SNK)
Melty Blood Type Lumina - PS4 (Lasengle)
Dragon Ball FighterZ - PS4 (BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment)
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 - PS4 (Capcom)

Street Fighter 6 is scheduled to release on June 2, 2023, on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S, but that doesn't stop the pros and the organisers from including the game at EVO 2023. Aside from making its first EVO appearance, Capcom also revealed that the Capcom Pro Tour 2023 will support the title with a prize pool of over $2 million USD.

On the other hand, the return of Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 to the EVO stage is a huge and certainly pleasant surprise. The last time a Marvel vs Capcom game got featured as a main title was back in EVO 2016.
