Earlier today DICE made an announcement dealing with their new Battlefield title for PC and console – but also added that a game would be coming to mobile.
Battlefield has been a long-standing game for both PC and console gamers, with titles constantly challenging the likes of Call of Duty. While we do know that a new title is to be confirmed for Battlefield soon, it seems the developers have decided to also follow in the footsteps of many before them and bring the Battlefield games to a mobile platform. In a post made earlier today, the developers spoke briefly about their new game, stating that it would take the game to the “next level” in every possible way. However, the most interesting part came towards the end where a standalone mobile game was announced.
In the post, DICE confirmed that a mobile version of Battlefield was in development and after multiple years of prototyping, it would finally see the light of day in 2022 for both smartphones and tablets. It was also confirmed that the game would be completely different from what is to come for both PC and console later in 2021, being built from scratch, with all the skill-based action we have come to expect from Battlefield games previously.
While little is currently known on the project, DICE added that the game was now entering its testing period, as they look to have it ready for a 2022 release – although currently there is no date or time period set. We will keep an eye on any information coming out of the DICE camp dealing with Battlefield mobile as we’re sure it is going to be just as epic as the likes of PUBG mobile, Call of Duty mobile, and many other games that are quickly taking over the mobile gaming platform.
