StarCraft II Call to Action: February 23 Balance Testing

Blizzard have just published a new Balance test map titled Dusk Towers (3.1.3 Balance v1.0), which was created to explore some potential changes which they are investigating for Legacy of the Void.

Blizzard have just published a new Balance test map titled Dusk Towers (3.1.3 Balance v1.0). The reason behind this move was to explore some potential changes which they are investigating for Legacy of the Void. These include the following:

Ravager’s Corrosive Bile

  • Damage changed from 60 to 45 damage (+15 vs bio)

Siege Tank

  • Damage increased from 35 (+15 vs armored) to 40 (+20 vs armored)

Liberator

  • Casting range of Defender Mode reduced from 5 to 4

Medivac

  • No longer can lift Siege Tanks that are in Siege Mode

In order to test this out, you will need to have StarCraft II installed, and then to head over to this link. However, if you wish to find it manually instead, enter Multiplayer and navigate to Custom. The Balance Test Map will be at the top of the list under ‘Top Played.’

Moreover, Blizzard have also updated the Extension Mod for balance testing. That means that you are able to play around with these changes on a variety of maps. Those of you who are interested in trying out the Extension Mod can do the following to get started:

  1. Navigate to Browse Maps on the Custom Games menu
  2. Select a map and click the Create with Mod button in the lower right corner
  3. Choose to sort by Blizzard Mods from the dropdown list at the top of the screen
  4. Select the “Balance Test Mod” Extension from the list and then hit Create Game

All the information on StarCraft II Balance team's reasoning behind these potential changes can be found on Senior Designer David Kim's community feedback update.
