The first round of the G-1 League western qualifier will begin shortly with Liquid first going up against Kaipi. The second game of the day will be Mousesports versus Dignitas to follow at 14:00 CEST. The losers of these match-ups will be eliminated from the race to G-1.
With Fnatic versus Kaipi finished, G-1 League will be moving into the first round of the loser bracket momentarily.
Team Liquid will be taking on Kaipi at 10:00 CEST today followed by Mousesports versus Team Dignitas at 14:00 CEST.
The matches will be played in a best-of-three format and the losers of the match-ups will be the first two to be eliminated from the second phase of the qualifier.

On the other hand, we also have four teams who have successfully breached round three of the winner bracket. They are due to play each other tomorrow.
The biggest surprise in the first round is undoubtedly Evil Geniuses who were given a spot from Absolute Legends' withdrawal and defeated Liquid, the heavy favourite coming into the match-up. Besides that, Alliance also got their sweet EMS One revenge, defeating Mousesports in straight games.

Liquid encountered Kaipi twice in the past month, once in The Premier Premier League 4 and another in joinDOTA Masters. Liquid took down Kaipi in straight games in TPL but in their recent fight in jD Masters, it was the European boys plus Canadian captain who took the game.
Mousesports and Dignitas on the other hand, have not met one another in nearly a month now, the last time was in the playoffs of Dreamhack Dota 2 Invitational 28 days ago. Nothing much can be said about this match-up except Dignitas defeated the Germans to proceed into the semi-finals of DH Invitational in their last encounter.
