Kaipi defeats Empire despite playing 4v5

Kaipi played 4v5 against Empire but still prevailed due to the huge lead the accummulated before the disconnections. EternalEnvy played a spectacular Ursa Warrior to carry his team into victory.

Despite possibly getting DDOS'ed and losing one member 15 minutes into the game, Kaipi prevailed and defeated Team Empire, the strong favourite coming into the match-up.

Kaipi will be heading to round two of the Winner Bracket to face Fnatic.EU while Team Empire has been eliminated from the race. Kaipi's second game in G-1 Western Qualifier is set to start tomorrow at 14:00 CEST.

You can visit G-1's official site here.

The second game of the day, QPad Red Pandas versus Team Dignitas will begin shortly at 14:00 CEST. The winner of that match-up will be entering the double elimination bracket to face Natus Vincere on the 17th of April.

Live broadcasting will be provided by Ayesee and BeyondTheSummit.

Game 1

Kaipi started game one with some really creative strats. They placed their offensive trilane bottom while leaving Anti-Mage to solo on the safe lane. Bane Elemental got Enfeeble at level one to be a nuisance to Lifestealer while they used their courier to block the neutral spawn. Despite all these nifty tricks, Empire still managed to pull off the First Blood.

Empire started rotating around the map and the Russians successfully picked off the Anti-Mage way past the tower. Three of Empire players teleported bottom immediately to pick off some of Kaipi's heroes but they were a second too late.

Come 10 minutes, Kaipi just started melting under pressure as they took a few bad fights, fights that were not suppose to be fought and Empire quickly capitalized on that to build up a 13-6 kill score lead. Realizing their mistakes, Kaipi resumed their split push and farmed. Anti-Mage was up to 122 creep kills at 10 minutes.

Empire's draft made it very hard for them to push, take the Aegis or even farming in that case. Kaipi slowly regained the gold advantage after ten minutes of farming. Empire won a battle after baiting out a horrid Reverse Polarity by Magnus but Kaipi quickly came back for some revenge kills and Roshan.

Magnus redeemed himself with a big four man RP to counter Empire's gank. Another four man RP later in the game sealed it for Kaipi.

Game 2

With a one game advantage, Kaipi went for something cheeky in the second game, picking up the Ursa Warrior and Venomancer. Ursa Warrior went to work early killing the Spirit Bear just as the creep spawned. Lone Druid abandoned the bottom lane and went into the jungle.

Empire made a move at Clockwerk on the top lane but to much surprise, Ursa Warrior teleported in with a Phase Boots and annihilated the Lifestealer and the Rubick. Ursa celebrated those kills with a 6 minutes Vladimir Offering.

A big fight broke out as Empire attempted to defend their tier-one tower and Ursa Warrior just chopped away despite the Russians having the better start in the battle. Ursa Warrior was 6-0-2 at the end of the battle. Empire threw their life again killing off the Clockwerk and the big bad bear cleaned up. Kaipi went straight into the Rosh pit.

Another big pause occured but G-1 admins were firm this time round. The game was paused for 20 minutes before the game was resumed with the Venomancer disconnected. Clockwerk soon started experiencing problems and paused the game again.

The game was reloaded with Venomancer still gone but Kaipi marched on. Empire nearly staged a comeback with one man up but the lead was too big for Kaipi to lose the game anymore. Kaipi took game two.
