Scarlett, Crank and Ryung for A-A's win over IM

After the all-kill week, Axiom-Acer and IM stepped on the battlefield to play a back-and-forth series, starting with Scarlett's win over Mvp.

Having Scarlett as the opening player for against Incredible Miracle was certainly enough to elevate the hype. Only a few weeks back the Canadian Zerg admitted she didn't feel ready for such high stage but there she was today, playing one of the most accomplished SC2 players of all time.

In a high-octane ZvT, Scarlett proved she was an opening player for a reason. Perfectly defending Mvp's blue flame opening and following it up with swarms and swarms of units got Acer their first win of the day and Scarlett prepared to meet another high-profile Terran: IEM WC champion Yoda.

This set was even closer. Scarlett used Ultra/Ling/Infestor armies to push Yoda to his side of the map but once the late-game onset, she had troubles battling the Widow Mine fields and Yoda's constant drops. As her bases fell one by one, so did Scarlett.

Sasha "Scarlett" Hostyn, Team Acer

A-A sent another Zerg forth - ex-SlayerS' Miya, but he too could not overcome YoDa and the pre-season champions were now in the lead. Crank was the next for A-A to be sent forth and although the Axiom Protoss did manage to stop YoDa's spree, he too couldn't last long - Losira's Mutalisks and Roaches juggled him to death and IM maintained their lead, 3-2.

Knowing they can't afford more losses, Axiom-Acer summoned Ryung. Although mostly known for his TvT, the former SlayerS played beautifully and slapped down both Losira and the Oracle tech of MC, the latter of whom stepped in as IM's ace choice. Another 4-3 victory for Axiom-Acer and one that trampolined them to the leaders of the current rankings.
