The Loser Bracket final of The Defense 3 will begin at 21:00 CET today between Team Dignitas and Fnatic.EU. The winner of the game will proceed into the Grand Final while the under-achiever will have to settle for third place.
Team Dignitas and Fnatic.EU will be going head to head in the Loser Bracket final of The Defense 3 tonight. The game will be going live at 21:00 CET and the winner of the tournament will face Virtus.Pro in the epic conclusion of The Defense 3.
The loser of the LB final however, will settle with a third place finish and $3,500 in cash.
The underdog coming into the LB final is undoubtedly the American team, Team Dignitas. Team Dignitas has performed well throughout The Defense 3 going 6-1 in the groupstage and defeated Mousesports, and NoTidehunter in the playoffs to advance into the Winner Bracket final.
Their winning streak was successfully stopped by the Russians and Dignitas was sent to the loser bracket. However, their great run in The Defense 3 does not reflect their performance perfectly in other tournaments such as The Premier League (7th placing) although they are currently in second place for RaidCall D2L.
Dignitas' opponent, Fnatic.EU has been playing extremely well as of late and was even invited to be the final four of the EU/NA qualifiers of G-1. Despite a rocky start to the playoffs, losing to EG in the first round, Fnatic.EU was resilient and fought through the loser bracket defeating Na`Vi, NoTidehunter, and most recently, Team Liquid to reach the LB final of the tournament. Fnatic.EU is currently on a 6-0 run in The Defense 3 with their last game dropped against Na`Vi.
