EG, TeamLiquid, paiN and Virtus.Pro reach the semifinals of the Eizo-Cup to fight over €1750. Mouz and Empire fail to advance.
Yesterday, eight invited and eight qualified teams played out the first two rounds of the Eizo-Cup main tournament. Fighting for a price pool of €1,750, only four teams remain after the first day of the tournament.
Surprisingly, z4, formerly known as iCCup or DevilMice, was able to claim a convincing 2-0 victory against mousesports who played without Kuro 'KuroKy' Salehi Takhasomi, but with Roman 'rmN' Paley as stand-in.
In the quarter-finals, the Brazilian team paiN managed to overcome the odds and won against Empire, who were playing without Gleb 'Funn1k' Lipatnikov for the first time.
Tomorrow evening, the four remaining teams will fight to claim the first price of €1250.
In the first semifinal, the only two american teams, Liquid and EG, will face each other while paiN, the Brazilian underdog will meet the Russian powerhouse VP.
