The World Cyber Games finals in Kunshan this fall will collide with the date of the Dreamhack Winter 2013. With 2012's official WCG games, this affects Starcraft 2 and Dota 2.
The World Cyber Games 2013 date is announced, from November 28 to December 1 the city of Kunshan, China, will be host for the formerly most prestigious eSport tournament of the year. Kunshan is, as was already announced, hosting the WCG grand finals for the second time in a row.
This year however, the date collides with another big eSport tournament that is already announced: DreamHack has the dates of its Summer and Winter events set in stone until the end of 2014. The DreamHack Winter 2013 tournament in Jönköping, Sweden, is also happening from Nov 28 to Dec 1.
WCG already collided with IPL5 in 2012
Assuming that WCG doesn't go for major game changes as the host country is not changed either, Starcraft 2 and Dota 2 would be present at both the WCG and the DreamHack event. In last year's fall, Ukrainian players from Na'Vi and German players from mousesports were participating in both tournaments. In Starcraft 2 there was no player participating in both tournaments, although South Korean, French, Polish, German, and Ukrainian players were present in both competitions.
It's not the first time the World Cyber Games collides with another eSports event: In 2012, IGN Pro League Season 5 finals in Las Vegas were set for the same weekend, this only affected the Starcraft 2 tournament.
