The market leader in eSport streaming TwitchTV has added a new subscription option called 'Turbo' for users to experience live streams without ads.
In addition to the already installed channel-subscription, TwitchTV today adds a new overall subscription option called "Turbo". The paid option mainly removes all ads from the streams. Minor chat improvements for Turbo users also apply, but ad-free streaming experience is the main purpose of the new subscription model.
For the streamers, this doesn't change a lot. As Justin Wong from Twitch further explains: 'If [the streamers] run an ad, you don't see one, but they get paid for it as if you had.' The channel-subscription options will remain, as these grant access to HD streams and VODs in addition to the ad-free watching experience.
Twitch Turbo is already available and users will be charged $8.99 per month for using this option.
