Smite Heimerdinger is not something one sees everyday but it worked fine for GSG as the took on CJ Entus 3-2 to bring home the NLB championship.

The flamboyant triumph comes in a time of need for GSG who took an early exit from The Champions Winter to find themselves among the lower tier of teams in the NLB. Beating the NLB group stage was the easy part for GSG as the diamond league bracket stage threw some of the most renowned teams in South Korea their way.

Starting with a 4-1 against LG-IM and following it up with 3-2 against NaJin Shield placed GSG in the grand finals, a win away from claiming a return to The Champions. Against them stood CJ Entus, who took care of KT Rolster A and MVP Blue to make it that far.

While the first four games were more your less what someone would consider by-the-book LoL, the fifth game was anything but. The annotation for it would read that it saw a smite Heimerdinger, a quad-lane on mid and two dead inhibitors by the 15th minute, orchestrating a show one rarely gets to see nowadays. The full rebroadcast of the game can be found below, while full champion statistics for the entire tournament is available from the link at the top of the article.
