Gambit Gaming shows glimpses of glory days as Moscow 5, push through to defeat Korean powerhouse Azubu Frost.

Well it happened. There will be no all Korean final at IEM Katowice. Gambit Gaming after a unspectacular debut on Friday gave something that fans have been waiting to see. Azubu Frost tried and tried but in the end Gambit Gaming showed why they were perhaps the most feared team last year.

On Friday we saw Gambit Gaming with an extremely disappointing debut. The former M5 team was nearly eliminated from IEM instantly and only managed to pull through for having the fastest win time in a triple tie breaker. Now erase all the thoughts of that debut and restore the glory of M5 at their prime. That is what we saw from Gambit Gaming from the get go against Azubu Frost. Having left open a variety of very strong champions, Gambit managed to get Kha'zix, while Frost got Eve, Blitz, and Amumu. With a team consisting of Kha'zix, Xin, and Renekton, Gambit Gaming was able to just run past the tanky front line of Frost to strip away their main sources of damage and support. With the edge of eliminating most of the damage Gambit managed to keep winning team fights until Frost could no longer respawn fast enough to defend, giving GG the win in Game 1.

In Game 2 continuing to give Madlife his favorite champion, Blitzcrank, Gambit Gaming revolved their playstyle around baiting the grabs. Using early teleports and aggression GG forced a 4v2 at the bottom lane diving under tower for a 2-0 start against Frost, giving Genja a massive snowball. Frost never had a chance to really come back with Gambit controlling the game so dominantly.

Gambit Gaming is the second team to move into the finals and looks to face Azubu Blaze to become IEM Katowice champions. As always, you can keep up to date on Coverage, Interviews, and VODs by clicking on the links above. Will Gambit repeat getting dominated like on Friday? Or will Azubu Blaze get their sister team revenge?
