After failing to bring their team the desired win in day one, the mighty CJ Entus duo returned in strength to crush Team 8 in today's Proleague matches.
Leading in with a powerful zerg vanguard proved very productive for CJ Entus as Hydra and Effort easily secured a healthy lead for their team. Having already lost their two big hitters in Baby and Cure was a tough situation to be in as Team 8 and all they could do was send forth their captain Jaehoon.
Abusing a well-microed AoE damage force of colossi and high templars, Jaehoon was able to deny critical mining spots for Effort and force the zerg into an engagement he couldn't possibly win. Before he can gain any momentum and get the chance to tie the series, however, Jaehoon met CJ's other unstoppable force, the sixth in the individual rankings hero[join]. The two played a perfect mirror match with herO staying on the defensive - a decision that won him the GG after Jaehoon failed to break up his ramp and was shot down on spot.
It was a triumph of the protoss race in the other match between Woongjin Stars and Samsung KHAN. Free and sOs each took two sets to close the victory for Stars but it was a hard-fought battle. Stork and Jangbi were unleashed by KHAN with the latter coming really close to a three-win streak that would've been enough for a 4-2 victory, but sOs was too big an obstacle. The Stars protoss broke through Jangbi's defensive robo build and did an unorthodox phoenix/zealot opening, warping troops inside Roro's base and clenching the 4-3 for his team.
Tomorrow sees the completion of the first week in the all-kill format as the current leaders of the Proleague KT Rolster play the seventh in the overall rankings STX Soul. Rolster are leading in with Wooki so the possibility of another 4-0 all-kill for Flash is off the table but considering the manhandling they delivered to Soul in round one, they might not even need it.
Following up will be EG-TL's match against the deep line-up of SK Telecom. Boxer's team hosts the two best performing players in the league in Fantasy and Rain, thus presenting a monstrous challenge for the joint roster. The previous encounter between the two went to SKT after a arduous seven-set series but with the all-kill format now in play, the end result might very well be different.
