Proleague day one: Rough start for the new kids

The joint roster of Evil Geniuses and Team Liquid did not fare too well in their first match for the new Proleague season and took a 4-0 beating from KT Rolster.

The absence of team stars HerO and Taeja - both of whom are in California for the NASL 4 finals - was tangible in the opening game of the season. EG-TL had to lead with Zenio and JYP, two players who have been off the radar for a while now, and follow up with Thorzain and Jaedong but this line-up proved to be anything but efficient against KT Rolster. Flash opened the score with a 1-0 for KT and left it to Wooki, Action and Stats to clean up the remainder of EG-TL for a flawless victory.

In game number two for the day, STX and SKT paraded their rich on talent rosters and clashed in a full-match series. STX spilled first blood and by the fourth series they were leading 4-1, trampling even SKT's star pupil Rain who fell to GSL semi-finalist Bogus.

It was not until BeSt and Fantasy were unleashed that SKT restored the balance in the match, pushing the series to an ace match. That ended up being a late game between Trap and Rain and, as history has shown us many times before, those are very much to OSL's champion's liking. Rain redeemed himself for his loss for earlier before and awarded SKT their first win of the season.

It will not be long until we see more Proleague action as KeSPA's team league returns tomorrow with two more matches. Reigning champions CJ Entus take on Woongjin Stars and the now Jaedongless Team 8 face last season runner-ups Samsung KHAN.

Note: Several of the SKT/STX VODs are still to be uploaded.
