Twelve Korean rosters will embark on a three-month journey starting November 9th. Near $230,000 are up for the taking, a third of which to be awarded to the best team in the country.
Unlike past "The Champions" events, this one is foreigner-free, only featuring the highest echelons of professional League in South Korea. The Azubu gang took home the last two tournaments in May and September and are also hailing from outstanding runs in MLG Fall Championship and Season 2 World Championship, reaching the finals in both and taking the gold at the former.
Against them will stand established LoL teams and organizations with a long history in eSports alike, featuring the two NaJin teams, CJ Entus, MVP, KT Rolster, Incredible Miracle and more.
The teams are divided into two groups of six and will go through both a round-robin phase and cross-group competition, the latter to be based on group rankings. Matches are best of two, awarding three points for a win and a single point for a tie.
