Dreamhack announces prize money for LoL

With their Winter tournament just three weeks away, Dreamhack has released details of the prize payout for League of Legends.

Beginning on November 22, Dreamhack Winter will have a total prize pool of 330,000 Swedish Kronor (roughly $55,000 USD). Eight teams will contest the first place prize of almost $19,000 though the teams are yet to be decided.

The eight teams will consist of two invitees, four teams from online qualifiers and two teams from the BYOC section of Dreamhack. The four spots for online qualification will be decided on November 11, with registrations open now. Two teams will qualify from the EU West server and two from the US East server. The qualifiers are open for up to 256 teams, so competition for the LAN finals should be fierce.

The invitees are currently unknown, but with the top two teams from DH Summer being on the continent, CLG EU and Moscow 5 seem like reasonable candidates.
