GEST All-Star : 5v5 Match-ups Preview

We have a fair share of 1v1 matches, but we cannot miss out on the classic 5v5 matches. Sit back as our DotA editor Ren "Pacific.Ren" Vitug go through the groups.

2 games each will be played by each team pair (one per day), and that may make the picking process hard. However, I will try to picture out the general strengths and weaknesses of each team to try figure out who has the upper hand on their matchups.

The PCG team, on the other hand, is an all-Filipino of as high individual skills as Team Gigabyte. While everyone is labeling Team 1 of Gigabyte as the powerhouse, I will be bold on calling a 2-0 win for PlayCyberGames. Their line-up with corresponding in-game roles (from main carry to main support) are just so well drawn-out, that this match should be their even before Team Gigabyte gets comfortable.

PCG should have an amazing laning phase given not all of them play carry, and having 4 Thais on the team won't hurt them as well. Team Gigabyte is arguably the more balanced team, but I fear that there might be some kind of communication issues on their team - 5 players across 4 different nationalities. If Team Gigabyte can play against that language barrier, they should be able to take a game. Otherwise, another 2 win victory for Team PlayCyberGames.

Team Gigabyte should be able to adjust to fill in the roles easily, but Team PlayCyberGames' chances is pretty much dependent on CyberClasher's Carry ability. I think Team Gigabyte can win this match-up twice, but don't be surprised if Team PlayCyberGames takes a win. YamateH is a legend, after all.
