After losing to iG, CLG met SK in a match that would determine who will be the team to start the group with 0-2 in sets. By the end, the game would become a true spectacle as both teams engaged in a nail-biting base race: A strong push by SK was looking to close the set for the Europeans but a clutch hold by CLG pushed it back, buying them just enough time to for Orianna and Diana to teleport in SK's main and join the split-pushing Graves for the win.
As CLG fell to Frost in the next game, however, the threat of a three-way tie was very real, its premise being an SK victory over iG but it all went wrong for Ocelote's team. Kills were going to Nyph, Areneae's ganks and the three-man dives never yielded results and towers were quickly lost to iG's signature pushes. Flying on the wings of a 6/1/5 Ezreal and 3/0/3 Cassiopeia, the Chinese team bashed out a surrender out of SK Gaming, advancing to the playoffs.
The Asia vs The Western World war continues in Group B as at 02:00 CET the World Championship returns with the matches of Dignitas, CLG Europe, Saigon Jokers and NaJin Sword.
