tT Dragons eliminates mousesports

The second group stage of The Siege is almost at an end and tonight saw tT Dragons stunningly top their group ahead of Mousesports and Moscow Five.

The somewhat weird format of In2LOL's The Siege tournament means that only one team in each group of three misses out on the next round. Tonight, Mousesports were the latest to go out thanks to a surprising defeat at the hands of tT Dragons. The unfancied team seemed to have an impossible task when they were drawn against M5 and Mouz, but they actually come out of the group with a 2-0 record.

tT Dragons showed plenty of resiliency en route to the top spot in Group A. Not only did they defeat two better known teams, but they came from behind in both series, earning their success the hard way.

Elsewhere, Groups B and D have yet to be complete, though a last minute dropout in Group D means that Fnatic vs Alternate will be the only game. Whether or not it goes ahead is uncertain, since both teams are automatically qualified for the next round. That match is due to be played on Saturday, while the deciding match in Group B between Gamehoppers and Giants takes place at 21:00 CET tomorrow. The winner of that game should progress to the knockout stage but a win for Gamehoppers will make things a little more complicated.

Group C wrapped-up a couple of days ago when an Ocelote-less SK overcame ex-Logix to secure a spot in the next round. The German team ended on a 0-2 record after losing to a Curse team who are on top of their game. It was a do-or-die game for both teams, with SK also losing their game against Curse but securing passage to the knockout stage with Wednesday's win.
