Nyjacky has been touted by many to be the best mid player in America. So when he decided to do an AMA on Reddit, it was no surprised to see hundreds of questions pop up, many of which were asking about his take on the best mid players. “There is no best,” he said. “NA..I think I’m top three.”
As a player who is well known for playing Veigar in the past, questions about unusual champions came up a lot. On The Tiny Master of Evil himself, Nyjacky mentioned that people don’t know how to play around him. “People should back after I burst someone,” he said. “But they always go in like crazy and all my spells are on CD.” On top of that, he also admitted that he thinks Veigar is only good against Twisted Fate and Karthus. In fact, despite his love of the champion, he didn’t even include him in a list of the most important champions for mid players to learn. Instead, he claimed that the most important are Morgana, Cassiopeia, Ryze, Karthus and Zyra.
Unusual champions were another theme of the questions, and the Curse player was definitive in his answers. “People focus target in real tournaments,” he said. “That's why Swain, AP Tristana, etc are not viable.” On a similar note, he mentioned that champions that he doesn’t like to play, such as Twisted Fate, Mordekaiser and Orianna. “We don't like TF that much… maybe we will use TF to try some global push comp.”
Of course, that implies that the team as a whole doesn’t like to play Twisted Fate, and Curse are “like a family,” according to Nyjacky. “We live together, play together.” However, the team has had its problems, and Nyjacky admitted that Westrice and SaintVicious never really got along. Still, after a disappointing NA Regionals, the team knows what it needs to do. “Scrim more practice more talk more learn more!” said the Chinese player. “we have a big chance to be top three [next season].”
