Dignitas players fined

Team Dignitas decided to fine its League of Legends players for their part in MLG Raleigh controversy.

Last weekend was one of the darkest in the history of LoL's esports life. The collusion allegations levelled at MLG finalists Curse and Dignitas cast a shadow over the whole scene. But the organisation behind one of the teams has stepped in to set an example by fining its players. "we have fined our players for their actions plus the entire cost of the MLG Raleigh trip on top of that," wrote Michael O'Dell on the Dignitas site.

However, he said that the fine was for the ARAM game and not for collusion. "We have concluded that our team did indeed co-operate with Curse by agreeing to play ARAM in the Grand Final," he wrote. "We have found no solid evidence confirming any other allegations." Still, the punishment is definitely a harsh one, which the players have apparently accepted. "We promise to never let a disappointing event like this happen again," wrote Scarra. "We apologize to our fans, sponsors, and to MLG for playing the ARAM this weekend. "

Dignitas will have a chance to put this whole situation behind them this weekend when they take part in the North American regionals. They face a tough task against Dynamic in their opening game, but previous results make Dignitas favourites to reach the semi-finals at least.
