MLG secures a $11.3M funding for eSports

Gamasutra reports that the company responsible for one of the largest gaming tournaments in North America has raised an eight figure sum to put into eSports.

No eSports fan is a stranger to the MLG events as they host some of the most popular progaming disciplines. Several times a year, progamers and fans alike tune in to MLG streams or go to the offline events to watch some StarCraft 2, League of Legends, Halo or more and interact with the players and each other.

Accoding to the news source, these 11.3M USD bring the total amount raised by MLG to about $70M. Gamasutra have also enclosed a SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) filing as a proof for this number.

Fans themselves will get to enjoy some quality MLG action come March 23rd when time comes for the MLG Winter Championship.
