MVP's star zerg player Soo Ho "DongRaeGu" Park has assured himself at least a top three finish in New York, as he fought through a third protoss in a row in an immaculate manner.

The first match for DongRaeGu this Sunday was against ST_Parting and he came into it with a 1-2 disadvantage due to the extended series rules. One game and a blink stalker attack later, DRG was already down 1-3 and his prospects were looking grim.

To DRG' luck, PartinG did not opt for differentiating his play and went for two more blink stalkers build which the zerg defended to tie the score. For the final set, DongRaeGu opened with a daring 6-pool to cause some early inconvenience to Parting and used brood lords and ling counter attacks to destroy the protoss in the late game, enjoying yet another epic comeback in the last few days since his Code S semi-final series against Gumiho.

The last losers series that DRG had to play was against FXO's Oz, the latter opening with a smart forge first into a double cannon rush at both of DRG's bases to get the early lead. In game two on Daybreak, Oz went for a 2-base warp prism build (using it once again later after the game had to be remade due to a disconnect), but that was defended perfectly and DRG exploded with a surmounting zerg swarm. As his natural fell, Oz chose to base race knowing that he cannot successfully defend two spread out bases but that would not end well for him, because of DRG's critical mutalisk count.

To reach the Ro3, DongRaeGu completely outplayed Oz on Shakuras Plateau, catching his army out of position a couple of times, slaughtering it with a roach arc and cleaning it all up with a mutalisk follow up.

If he is to advance to the MLG Winter Arena grand final, DongRaeGu will have to defeat the loser of HuK and MarineKing, who are currently kicking it off on stream.
