HSC 4 found its first grand finalist in the face of StarTale Sound. The terran defeated compatriot ViOlet 3-2 and continues to be undefeated in a series throughout the tournament.
First game saw Sound scoring a clear-cut victory with mech play with hellions, tanks, banshees and thors. Violet suffered too many losses to his mineral line to get back in to the game.
Second game had Violet perform a blind counter to Sound's play, making sure he won the early game with a muta/ling/baneling play. He did however make it more close than needed, as he seemed to want to force a base trade with his mutalisks, not falling back to take care of the marine/tank/thor/medivac platoon. Eventually, the baneling/mutalisk mix made sure to end the game by wiping out the last Terran army.
Third game began with a bunker rush and developed into a medivac marine play to kill off Violet.
Fourth game, on Antiga, saw Violet go for two-base roach play against Sound's marauder/hellion off one-base. Following this up with banelings brought Violet the necessary victory and pushed the semi-final into a fifth game.
On Shakuras, Sound was able to do a great siege tank, marine drop in the main of Violet and reinforcing it with more and more marines allowed him to defend against the mutalisks. Violet's banelings and zerglings were unable to stop the coming push from inside the main, and had to concede to lose in the semi final.
