The G-1 Champions E-Sports League has boiled down to just eight teams and two groups in the run for 30,000 RMB ($4,700). Four teams who had to play to qualify for the group stages have done just that, and they are iG.Y (over AOL), Nv.cn (over DT.Club), TongFu (over DT.Love) and PanDa (over LGD).
In a surprising turn of events last night, LGD found themselves having to take an early exit from the competition after their defeat to PanDa. Going one game up after game 1, disoriented play from the LGD side led to two consecutive defeats and PanDa emerging victorious from the best of three match.

The first series of group stage matches will begin tonight with Group A teams battling it out for their first win. All matches are set at best of two so a win, draw and loss will be accorded 3, 1 and nil points respectively.
Matches will run every alternate day so do tune in this week and the next for more G-1 Chinese DotA action.
