After an incredibly close series with Min-Chul "MC" Jang, BroodWar legend and ST player July managed to recover from his opening loss against HuK. "I will try to reach the finals", said the God of War in the post-game interview.
July received an unexpected gift from MC on Metalopolis, as the protoss pylon-blocked his own natural, delaying his nexus so much that he had no means to deflect July's roach/ling attack. Similarly, July decided to "return" the favour, going for a nydus/hydralisk all-in but morphing his nydus worm straight under void ray fire and later failing to break MC in time before the colossus hit the fields.

The third game, however, was insanity at its best. MC opened with a strong +1 gateway/blink timing attack but July's burrow roaches crushed the protoss force to put MC in a difficult position. Somehow, though, MC found a way to recover and even swing the game back in his favour, running a massive blink stalker army, winning multiple battles across the map. But as July would not yield, the game entered a peculiar state with neither player really having a decent economy. However, having slightly more minerals at his natural, July succeeded into mustering enough forces to deny MC's third and push in for the win.
Being asked on his thoughts on his performance thus far, July answered that "he felt he was lucky", winning the series against MC after losing his opening match 0-2.
- "It used to be MC but now it's HuK who I most fear", confessed July in his post-game interview.
At the same time on the blue stream, HuK himself strengthened his position at the top of Pool D after a convincing 2-0 victory against ex-teammate Liquid`Tyler.
