New season brings fresh changes to the NASL 2 open tournament. Apart from format changes, it will also feature some new maps to the pool.

The open tournament, the winner of which gets a spot at the NASL grand final, will no longer be open to everybody. Or at least not completely. This competition will grow into a "semi-open tournamet" with a 32-player pool, who will be seeded in from a total of three separate sources. Half of this number will be top-player invites and the rest will come from two fully open tournaments, i.e. such that will have no restriction to skill level, nationality or location. The two open tournaments are scheduled for October 1st-2nd and October 8th-9th and will require a $10 entry fee.

The winner of the semi-open tournament will get a place at the grand final while top 4 will get spots at NASL 3.

In addition to changes in format, NASL will also be introducing new maps provided by their partner "The Planetary Workshop". Four of the nine maps have been displayed on NASL's site and you can see them below.

NASL's division stage is already on the way with the first day of week one currently being rebroadcasted for European viewers.
