WDC 2011 coming your way soon

Yaphets lifting up the Championship trophy for Nirvana.CN

Last year, Loveen held the first World DotA Championships (WDC) in Wuhan, and it proved to be a stellar success. His ambitious project to expand E-Sports in China will return for a second year this November, and it promises to invite the world's top teams, a better broadcasting stream for viewers and last but not least, a bigger prize pool.

The 6000-seat stadium was fully packed last November as the tournament came to a successful close. Almost $30,000 worth of prize money was handed out in style. 2011's WDC will hope to mirror the success of last year's championships, again with a total of $50,000 in store for participating teams.

The tournament will run from 11th to 13th of November this year and will invite teams from four regions, namely China's professional and non-professional scene, Asia and Europe. National qualifications will be conducted online with the finals staged offline again in Wuhan.

With all of last year's participating teams now playing in different rosters, what battles will we see waged this year? Will NaVi look to add this tournament to the one million dollars already in their pockets or will any of the Chinese teams stop them?
