Half a million World of WarCraft players lost

In the Activion Blizzard conference call last Monday, most focus was put on Call of Duty and Diablo 3. But the recent figures for World of WarCraft were also revealed.

It was revealed that the subscriber numbers dropped from 12 million down to 11.4.

Mike Morhaime, CEO of Blizzard Entertainment, commented that the decrease is likely due to players racing through the extra content that Cataclysm provided.

In that breath, he also mentioned that Blizzard might be looking to push out expansions quicker.
