A month after the initial announcement of Heroes of Newerth as one of the official tournaments at DreamHack Summer 2011, the stakes have been raised with the prize pool getting nearly tripled!
Partnered with S2 Games, DreamHack will be holding a Heroes of Newerth tournament on June 18-19 at their summer event, with a 100,000 SEK (roughly €11,231 or $16,044) prize pool.
They have also partnered with Inferno Online, integrating DHS2011 as part of the Inferno Online League Season 3. The IOL season has been running from the Stockholm, Sweden LAN center since October 2010.
The two IOL LAN finalists will compete at DHS2011. One of these teams is Sweden's own Reason Gaming; the other slot was recently claimed by TS-Gaming after they defeated unZ in the IOL LAN Finals during May 7-8.
Two more spots in the HoN tournament at DHS2011 will be decided by the BYOC qualifier, open to all DreamHack Summer attendees. The top 2 teams from Saturday's qualifiers at DreamHack will advance to the Day 2 playoffs on Sunday.

DreamHack Winter 2011: 24-27 November
Note that the winners of DHS2011 will be qualified for DHW2011. Heroes of Newerth has indeed been confirmed for DreamHack Winter 2011 in November. It will again be a featured tournament, with another prize pool of 100,000 SEK. DreamHack Summer 2011 already looks like an exciting tournament, and the DHW2011 qualification spot granted to the winners is another huge incentive for teams to take part in this event.
