The Shooting Star event draws crowds each year because of the unique $5k bounty placed on the heads of the celebrity poker pros. The pros sign customized t-shirts with their photo when they bust, along with the bounty. The fans, both in the field and watching from the rail get a big kick of seeing all the poker celebrities.
There were 273 players on Day 1B, bringing to a total of 415 for the $10,000 buy-in NLHE main event. The prize pool generated was $3,942,500 with $1,039,000 reserved for first place.
There were 170 players who survived both flights of Day 1. It will be a busy day Wednesday as they play down to the final 24 players. A total of 45 players will make the money.

Notables that were eliminated on Day 1 B included Phil Ivey, Dan ‘jungleman12’ Cates, Barry Greenstein, Todd Brunson, and Michael Mizrachi .
