The drafting was fairly routine for a team against MSI, with KD banning 3 very dominant heroes who feature frequently in MSI's lineup. They followed it up by first-picking Voodoo Jester, arguably MSI's most used trilane babysitter. MSI followed it up with their regular picks, this time however replacing the usual Tundra solo mid with Nymphora, who offered less map control but more ganking prowess. KD stunned many as they ended the picking stage with 2 strong pushers who featured in competitive games back in the beta days when pushing was the trend of play, but since falled off the radar in the form of Ophelia and Pollywog Priest.
Early game vision advantage was lost by MSI as they spent both wards of sight in the Hellbourne jungle to counter the top lane, a lane which KD decided to abandon. KD instead decided to take a gamble and go for winning the other 2 lanes, sending a pseudo quadlane bottom along with some very aggressive wards. MSI reacted by sending Andromeda and Witch Slayer to Hellbringer's aid, leaving Bot to freefarm top on Panda.
Despite being an impromptu counter trilane, MSI's trilane had a lot of killing potential, and began putting a lot of pressure on kay`'s Dark Lady. Many mini skirmishes happened around the bottom lane as both sides tried to outharass one another. Meanwhile, N0tail's Nymphora was dominating SemiJew's Pollywog Priest, having more than double creepkills and denies by the 4th minute mark.
Bloodlust finally happened at the 5th minute as a result of a small teamfight bottom. Mag1X on Voodoo Jester claimed a double tap while Loda's Slither gets ticked down by Freshpro's Death Boil. SemiJew on the other hand, manipulates Nymphora's positioning into her own Volatile Pod to net an easy ward trap, killing N0tail. The pace of the game hastened as KD pulls off an interesting tactic at the 8th minute. Akke using his Vulture Lord to lure Legion's creepwave into the jungle while 4 KD heroes tower dived on to MSI's trilane. It however ends up in a 2v3 exchange in favour of MSI as Nymphora came in to clean up. The bottom tier 1 Legion tower was also denied by Andromeda.
While all that was happening, Bot had taken down the top tier 1 tower and was farming 430GPM as a result. After that teamfight, both sides decided to switch it up as Dark Lady went to the top lane to farm, protected by Slither wards and efficient roaming. MSI counters this well by faking a mid push, luring away KD's support players while Panda and Witch Slayer easily gank Dark Lady.
Bot proceeds to pressure the top lane as KD decides to go for an aggressive mid push in an attempt to regain some map control. A teamfight ensued. The trilane earlier was taking it's toll on Fresh's Hellbringer as he was only lvl 5 and did not have his ultimate to initiate. KD-Gaming synergize their dual ward ultimates to get 2 easy kills and the mid tier 1 tower.

KD's Dual Ward Ultimate Combo
Top lane at this point had become a freefarm zone for Dark Lady, farming at the safety of being right outside his base. It had become apparent that KD was content to lose all side towers so as to give kay` more areas to farm as once again a defence is not even set up while Bot takes down the bottom tower. KD begins to pull away slightly with some well executed ganks to counter MSI's tower gold advantage. By 18 minutes both sides had some very farmed heroes, with Panda getting his Shrunken Head while Dark Lady already had a Runed Axe.
The game's first 5on5 teamfight erupted after Hellbourne's mid tier 1 tower fell. Good initiation on MSI's part was in vain as KD counters with Ophelia's Touch and Slither's ulti. Pandamonium's Shrunken Head whilst kept him free from disables, did not offer much protection against KD's dual ward combo. KD loses only Dark Lady while 4 MSI heroes are killed. KD-Gaming capitalized on that win by going straight for Kongor, giving Dark Lady the token after she revived.
As the game looked to be in KD's grasp, sloppy play by kay` not only lost the token of life but forced KD to commit to a teamfight at top. KD appeared to have managed to win it just barely, only to have victory snatched by MSI's backup of Witch Slayer, Nymphora and Pandamonium who bought back. This set the tone of a possible comeback for MSI. Good use of Nymphora's ultimate allowed MSI to sandwich KD-Gaming at the bottom rune spawn spot. Caught by surprise, KD loses 3 players, including Dark Lady at the end as a very aggressive Witch Slayer dove the mid base tower to initiate on him.
Realizing the need to swing the advantage back into their favour, KD decides to go for a 5 man backstab on MSI's mid push. Unfortunately, their attempt is spotted by creeps. MSI's 4 supports backoff into the Hellbourne jungle leaving Pandamonium as bait. MSI eventually wins the teamfight in similar fashion as the last time as Panda buys back to clean up on KD's exhausted survivors. This was followed up by both sides attempting Kongor, waiting for an opportunity to initiate and get Kongor as well. Again good use of Nymphora's ultimate takes KD by surprise and MSI gets the token.

MSI taking out KD's bottom lane
Kay` once again gets picked off by a similar 4 man gank in his own jungle. MSI takes the 4v5 advantage and takes the middle raxes. GGs come out as KD-Gaming concedes.
Post game interview with [KD]Akke :
Ok firstly, thanks for agreeing to do this interview. Wanna start things off with a brief introduction of yourself?
-"Sure, My name is Joakim Akterhall, 22 years old and currently studying game programming in Skovde, Sweden. You want more about our team or something?" =P
Yea. How's the team coming along? Obviously with some big names combined with some old KDe members, some of the community tend to make comparisons and even feel that this is an improvement from the old KDe, what do you feel about that?
-"Well first of all its fun to hear that some think its an improvement :) But I think Hanni is by far one of the best players in the world so it will be hard to fill one of their spots, but I hope we will do ok ^^. Me and Loda, as you know, know each other many years back so it isnt any coincidence we are playing together now. I also played some DotA with Kebap before, so we kinda knew each other before we created this team."
Nice, so right into the MSI game. MSI's drafting of heroes til now has been quite predictable to say the least, did you guys go in with a well thought-out plan? As some picks do stand out with Ophelia being picked along with Pollywog, 2 heroes that haven't featured much in today's metagame.
-"We acually let them have Panda, we knew they would pick him, because we thought we would be able to get a decent farm and therefore he wouldnt be a very big threat. When we got vodoo jester, slither and tdl we though it would be a perfect moment to try this strat. When they did tri-lane on the top it was as we hoped as well; we planed on leaving one lane and try to push the lane we had four heroes on fast. I think I can speak of most of the community when I say we are tired of the regular tri-lanes, even if we play it alot ourselves, so we try to make up new strats to counter it." ^^
What would you say was the turning point in the game? As it seemed that your team started off quite nicely.
-"After we got some nice kills bottom and tdl even got a decent farm the game seemed to come out good. I (ophelia) got my astrolabe and Mag1x (vodoo) got his nomes pretty early and I would say this are the core items in the strat. That as well as that tdl got her runed axe we could fight pretty decent. That also made us win a gamebreaking fight when we got the opportunity to get the token; after that we just had to play it safe to be able to claim the victory of that game. Though after that we started to make bad decisions, got ganged by the nymph (which is pretty obvious ^^) and also losing token while still not getting anything. Also that panda bought out was a crucial point that made them turn a fight. Props to MSI|Bot for his buyouts." :P
So, about kay, unfortunately he had some issues during the game which caused his absence from teamspeak. How did the team react to it? How much did it affect your overall coordination? Was putting him on a ricing hero a decision knowing that he might not be at liberty to coordinate roaming and ganking as good as usual?
-"Acually I didnt found out that he wasnt avaliable on teamspeak after maybe 70% into the game. I did tell him to get some neutrals once that he didnt respond to so that made me wonder if he heard us ^^. We havent really talked much about it so not much to say. Of course it didnt feel that good to know that your team might have been able to perform better. And sure it would have been better to put someone else on the carry since the carry is one of the most important heroes in the team. But it was still a nice game, we brought a couple of heroes in the arent usually played and it was fun so shit happens, not much to do about it" ^^
Nicely said. Putting that game aside, with huge events like our own HoN World Cup and the German DYA qualifiers coming up, any insight on KD's plans for the future?
-"Its always fun with tournaments and events, thats why Im here playing :). I just love the competetive part of gaming so it will be really fun to play a big tournament such as HoN World Cup, and it will also be intresting to play the German DYA qualifier to see if I might be able to win this one (:DD)."
Yeah I guess the DYA qualifier would be a second bite at the apple for you and Loda, referring to your loss to TSoG in the Sweden one. Ok that about round's it up. Thanks for your time. Any last words or shoutouts you wanna give out?
-"Yeah, indeed :). Thanks for a nice interview! Shoutout to my cute friends sodah and exorsexist who plays pub with me all the time :D"
