Blacklist International's second exodus starts with the departure of four members

This is now the second time this year that Blacklist International has revamped their MLBB squad.

Blacklist International has released Gerald “Dlar” Trinchera, Dexter “Exort” Martinez, Mark Venedict “MarkTzy” Pagaduan, and Kim “Kimpoy” Dela Cruz friom its Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) division with the conclusion of the MLBB Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 14, trimming their squad for the upcoming season.

The departure of the recent four meant that Blacklist International released 14 players in 2024 alone, starting with Jon Redick “Super Red” Bordeos to EVOS Glory in January. With these departures, only six players remain with the team, including Jhon Marl “JM” Sebastian, who was expected to return from Bigetron Alpha after his loan period.

Before this second mass excursion, Blacklist International had undergone a period where they released ten players from their squad in seven months. This excursion excluded two coaching staff, Master The Basics and Dex Star, who left for Aurora Gaming.

The first exodus from Blacklist International included two of their most relevant personnel, Johnmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna and Danerie “Wise” James, who led the team to victory in the M3 World Championship. The pair went to Aurora Gaming, instantly establishing the team as one of the most exciting teams to look out for in the latter half of the year.

With the release of four players, It can be assumed that the struggle will continue for Blacklist International as they still have not found the squad that can return them to their glory days. Their recent tenure in MPL Philippines this year showed precisely that.

Blacklist International finished fourth in the league twice this year. In Season 13 of MPL Philippines, their run in the league was cut short when RSG Philippines defeated them 3-1 in the lower bracket semifinals. In the following season, they were stopped at the same round, this time by Aurora Gaming, which included five former Blacklist International members.

Failure to reach the international stage for the second time in a row means there is a dire need for Blacklist International to find the right squad with the right chemistry next year to bring the team back to relevancy.
