With the penultimate day of MSC 2023 Group Stages behind us, we saw another three fantastic series today, all of which ended in a 2-0 scoreline. For one unfortunate team, Day 3 would be their final in the tournament, after two series losses would mean that they were eliminated. On the other side, two teams secured their top seed spot in the next stage of the event, with some brilliant plays seen across the board.

Team Occupy, the Egyptians facing off against two of the toughest opponents in the tournament, were unable to make an impact in Group D. After being beaten by TODAK on Day 2, the team’s second series would be against the M3 World Champions, Blacklist International. Although they came out swinging, once the Agents had their number, it was all downhill. Blacklist ran rampant from then on, claiming a clean sweep victory and their first win in the tournament. This sets us up for an epic showdown between Blacklist and the Swordfish on the final day of the Group Stage – which will determine the top seed for the group.

The biggest surprise of the day came when RSG Slate Singapore managed to take down EVOS Legends in an amazing series. While the Singaporeans are definitely considered the weaker team compared to the White Tigers, they did not let that stop them from stamping their mark on Group B. After knocking out the Myanmar representatives, Fenix Esports, on Day 3, RSG claimed a remarkable unbeaten record to take the top spot in their group.

ONIC joined both RSG and ECHO as the top seeds of their respective groups with an emphatic victory over the North American organisation of OutPlay. While Group B and D have essentially confirmed their eliminations, Group A and C head into the final day of Group Stages with some interesting series ready to be played – with teams fighting for their tournament lives or for the top spot in their group.
