What to watch this week - All about LCK, LPL, and LEC

Things are starting to heat up in the League of Legends 2024 season for the LCK, LEC, and LPL.

The Mid-Season Invitational is fast approaching with less than two months to go and so far, only G2 Esports have booked a spot in the Play-In Stage after winning the LEC Winter Split. With that said, the LCS is all done with its Spring Split group stage and now await the draw for the playoffs.

As for other regions like the LEC, LCK, and LPL, they are still in the midst of finishing up the rest of its group stage games. The LEC Spring Split is the shortest amongst the others and will wrap up a week after the LCK Spring Split, followed by the LPL that takes place just a few weeks shy of MSI.

LEC Spring Split

The LEC are about to finish its first weekend of games with the likes of Fnatic, G2 Esports, and Team Vitality currently holding a comfortable 2-0 lead in the group stage. Of course, there will be one more set of matches later today that will see all 10 teams in action once more to determine who solidifies the top spot after week one. With the Winter Split title already in its collection, G2 could go for its second straight LEC trophy in a few weeks time.

LCK Spring Split

There are just two weeks left in the LCK Spring Split group stage and there are already five teams that have managed to qualify to the playoffs. With just one spot remaining, it is up to Kwangdong Freecs to keep hold of sixth place while the likes of DRX, FearX, and BRION look to capitalise on its last four games of the group stage. As for the top two spots, it's looking increasingly likely that Gen.G Esports and T1 will secure it provided there are no slip-ups this week.

LPL Spring Split

As it stands, Bilibili Gaming have taken the lead in the LPL Spring Split and is so far the only team to qualify to the knockout stage. Only JD Gaming comes closest to BLG in second with both teams losing only one game so far in the group stage. The only difference is that JDG have two games in-hand, which is more than enough for them to catch up. It is still a tight race in the LPL with many teams separated by only a point or two as it gets closer to the end of the group stage.
