Team BDS could very well play both PCS teams if they win tomorrow.
In day four's second elimination series of the day, the fans in attendance bid farewell to DetonatioN FocusMe after its 2-0 loss at the hands of Team BDS. With that win, BDS now get a chance to secure passage to the next round, provided they are able to defeat CTBC Flying Oyster tomorrow in the deciding series.
As for DFM, this marks the fourth time in five Worlds appearances that they failed to make it past the group stage. Their trip back in 2021 still stands as the org's best placement to date when it qualified for the group stage for the first and only time so far.
And the first match could not have gone any worse for the undisputed LJL champions as they were held to just two kills for the entire game, both of which went to Geon "Steal" Yeong Moon. BDS would also introduce a rarely ever seen Ivern into the jungle role, which Theo "Sheo" Borile played to perfection. The jungler had a sole kill with zero deaths and nine assists, the second-most on his team in the first match.
Ilias "nuc" Bizriken was another standout performer on Jayce, who was able to secure six kills to go with three assists and zero deaths. Even Labros "Labrov" Papoutsakis was crucial in the team's success with Braum as he chipped in with 10 assists to ensure BDS get the perfect start to the series. While DFM did put up a much better fight in game two, it wasn't enough to stop BDS.
DFM even went with an Ivern pick of their own in the second game for Steal, which did not end well for the team. Both Lee "Aria" Ga-eul and Yuta "Yutapon" Sugiura managed to finally get their hands dirty but unfortunately, it was these two who could get only seven kills altogether. The 'Xayah and Rakan' combo proved useful for BDS as Juš "Crownie" Marušič and Labrov made a great pair. Crownie even managed to grab himself a pentakill, which has been a big talking point during the Play-In Stage as he is the third AD carry to get it.
BDS will now have the opportunity to send not one, but both PCS teams by this weekend. They will first face off against CTBC Flying Oyster in the do-or-die series of Group B to see who goes to the next round. And in the next round await PSG Talon, who could either be facing their fellow PCS competitor or the LEC fourth seed.
