Team Liquid makes four changes to their squad by including a current world champion

Team Liquid has built itself a potential top team for the future.

With this being their third straight season with an LCS title to brag about, Team Liquid has introduced its new lineup for the 2023 season. This includes one-fifth of the Worlds 2022 championship-winning squad from DRX, jungler Hong "Pyosik" Chang-hyeon. However, he isn't the only eastern import for Liquid with Park "Summit" Woo-tae, coming in from FunPlus Phoenix.

Liquid didn't stop there though. They have also brought in two players from Team Liquid Academy, Harry "Haeri" Kang and Sean "Yeon" Sung. This will be both players' first foray into the LCS. Jo "CoreJJ" Yong-in is the only one to remain with Liquid, having already been with the organisation since the end of 2018.

This will be a big step up for both Haeri and Yeon as they will be rubbing shoulders with two world champions as well as this year's LCS Spring Split MVP. Of course, these two talented players are already used to winning, having won both the LCS Proving Grounds Spring and Summer as well as the LCS Academy Summer League this year.

However, it will be hard to determine if the latest iteration of Liquid is capable of winning the league. It does look good on paper but it's another thing entirely to form a distinctive playstyle that brings out the best in all five players. Given that includes two newcomers to the LCS, it will be interesting to see how Liquid handles the pressure.
