Apollo to Apex Gaming

The 10-man roster Apex Gaming could be sporting for the 2016 Summer Split is getting clearer by the day. Following their purchase of Team Dignitas’ Challenger Series spot, it has been leaked on their website that Apollo “Apollo” Price was welcomed as their new AD Carry.

Apollo, formerly known as Wizfujiin, is a well-known North American professional player, bouncing around both LCS and Challenger Series teams since 2013. His time on Team Impulse really contributed to his growth as a player, leading Dignitas to pick him up as a starter for the 2016 LCS Spring Split. He was looked upon as a leader for their inexperienced recruits, but things did not work out as hoped. Apollo and DIG were relegated very convincingly by Team Dragon Knights, a team that did not even make it into the LCS.

It is as of yet unclear on the status of Park “Police” Hyeong-gi. Whether he stays in the Challenger squad while Apollo takes to the LCS or will they swap game to game, we cannot know for sure. For competitive experience, you would most certainly go with Apollo, but perhaps Apex Gaming would prefer to invest in a younger AD Carry in Police with perhaps better potential. That looks unlikely, as Apollo might not have agreed to sign with Apex for the sharing of a spot.
