SKT T1 and KT Rolster were first and second placements, respectively, in the LCK standings before the match. Faker (mid laner) and Ssumday (top laner) were tied first place for the Most Valuable Player of the Season. However impressive KT Rolster looked, SKT T1 practically taught everyone that they are the dominating force in Korea just eagerly waiting to meet EDG at Worlds’.

In this matchup, we will look at two games which SKT T1 demonstrated their beautiful plays. In both matches, SKT T1 had the flow of the game under their control most of late game.

Game 2:

Brief analysis

Game one was intense. KT showed that they have the tenacity to play hard. In fact, KT played toe to toe against SKT until this beatiful play unraveled. If you observe the highlights of the photo above, Marin’s teleport was just ready in time while he was channeling back home. While Marin (Rumble) was just about to arrive back home to teleport into the fray, Wolf (Nautilus) and Faker (Oriana) engaged into Nagne (Victor) who was confidently poking. It ultimately became a “search and destroy” scenario for SKT T1, where they went straight to baron after killing three members of KT Rolster from a single chase. After about fifteen minutes, Faker, Marin, and Bang snowballed into fully itemized monsters, thereby sealing the first victory. Watch the beautiful play here.

Game 2 was simply a one sided game. Although Edge (who replaced Nagne in the middle lane) played solid Fizz with great follow ups from his team, Bang’s Corki and Faker’s Master Yi swept the map without sweat. In an instance, Bang’s Corki was able to chase four members of KT Rolster out of their own jungle single handedly. Faker and Bang each got MVP points for the consecutive wins.

TL;DR Summary

SKT T1 is at their best showing minimal accounts of errors and great map control. Faker is looking great with his dynamic champion pool and omnipresence in team fights. KT Rolster needs to develop a habit of expecting what kind of moves the opposition would make. They’ve lost, but we have observed some positive points. KT proved that they are still a playoff-relevant team and that they have a growing talent named, “Edge.”
