XDG Benny retires from professional LoL

Today the top laner of team XDG announced his retirement from the professional League of Legends scene.

After almost two years on the professional scene, Benny has decided to retire. The player has been a part of XDG Gaming, Vulcun, Tear FeaR, CLG Black and Team EZ. Many fans know him for his previous nick name - Sycho Sid. With Vulcun, the player managed to achieve 3rd spot at both spring and summer splits of the NA LCS, qualifying and participating at the League of Legends World Championships at Staples Center last year.

XDG however weren't able to follow their previous successes and finished last in the 2014 NA LCS spring split, which was followed by a disappointing defeat from LMQ, which by itself meant no spot for XDG in the summer NA LCS split and no possibility for them to go to worlds.

Benny points that out to be the main reason for his early retirement. His future plans are to return to UC Berkeley to continue his education and obtain a degree. The player denies any possibility at trying for the position of top laner for CLG after Nien's retirement. Benny is planning to stay involved in the scene in one way or another - streaming, casting or doing analyzes.
