Saintvicious, the ex jungler and support player of Team Curse, continued his "Patch Rundown" series for Patch 4.5.
Patch 4.5 itself is larger than usual and introduces more changes to the game. For full details and explanations, ex-Curse player Saint Vicious released a video that is over 40 minutes long.
Rengar gets another rework, that is aimed solving the issues of the champion being able to instantly kill people, without giving them chance to react in any way. In addition the fixes affect his damage potential. With the reduction of pure damage output, if players would like to go full assassin, they would have to sacrifice tankyness, which wasn't the case before.
Gragas, a champion that is big part the current meta, also gets a big rework. According to Saint, it is aimed at nerfing the R + Q burst combo, while making the champion more dependent on fighting with auto attacks inside the team fights, thanks to the buffs to his Drunken Rage (W). In general the whole rework makes the champion fit more to a top-laner role of the current meta than a mid-laner.
Heimerdinger gets a nerf aimed at his turrets. The change was necessary due to the inability of some melee champions to deal with them early game and automatically get outpushed and lose the lane. Kha'Zix also gets small nerfs on his ultimate, but according to Saint, the nerfs will not affect his effectiveness and are not aimed properly at the issues of the champion. Lee Sin gets his mobility reduced slightly, due to the increased cool down of his W ability. The change will affect his jungle invasion potential as well as "InSec" type of flashy plays.
Miss Fortune, one of the AD-Carries that fell out of fashion, is getting buffs on most of her abilities which are aimed at bringing her back to the meta. Renekton is also getting a much anticipated fix. With slight changes of his ultimate, Riot are aiming at reducing his early gaming potential, while buffing his late game power.
An item that was not used in the current meta and is receiving huge buff is Feral Flare (building from Wriggle's Lantern after 25 large monster kills). The item scales well into late game if used on damaged focused champions such as Udyr or Nocturne. Twin Shadows is getting a change aimed at making the item more of a scouting than chasing tool. All boots upgrade enchantments got tweaked a bit, but the "Distortion" seems to be receiving the best buff, which can even result in some high level plays. Last but not least Riot are trying to nerf the flat bonus runes, glyphs, etc. while buffing the ones that scale per level.
