TSM and Curse pull out the first wins in the return of the North American LCS with decisive victories over XDG and Dignitas.

TSM vs. XDG
The North American LCS would kick off with an expectedly passive style. XDG were the first to break the monotony and make moves in this game due to their early dragon play. However, due to being behind in gold, they did not persevere in the early game. The next time the two teams would encounter each other, TSM would pull ahead 3-0.
Team Solomid looked a lot more solid in both strategy and the individual play department by being ahead of gold and outrotating XDG at every turn. In order to secure their advantage, Team Solomid lit up the area with wards. After taking the games slow and steady, Team Solomid were able to continue their North American rampage.
DIG vs. CRS
Dignitas decided to spice up the LCS with a double AP composition that worked out very well for them early on. Despite Curse Gaming behind up 2-1 by the 8 minute mark, Cruzer found his debut on Ryze to be very successful as he went 2-0 in lane. Around 13 minutes in, the score was even and the pace of the game greatly slowed down.
After the stale period, Curse found vulnerable openings and proceeded to pull further and further ahead, up 2-0 in towers. Eventually, Curse was able to acquire a baron. Curse were pummeling in on Dignitas' base, but Dignitas did an excellent job at stalling. With enough time and persistence, Curse were able to find the win and close out the game.
