Due to Visa issues with the three European members of Evil Geniuses, the team will be playing Week 9 of the North American LCS with a trio of substitute players.
The three European players, Stephen “Snoopeh” Ellis, Peter “yellowpete” Wuppen and Mitch “Krepo” Voorspoels, traveled home last weeks due to the fact that the LCS was on break for the IEM World Championships in Katowice, and are now unable to return to California in time to play their scheduled matched this weekend.
Popular streamer Robert “RobertXLee” Lee of Complexity Black will be taking over at the AD position for Yellowpete, while former Dirt Nap Gaming support and well-known Thresh player “ExicutionerKen” will be filling Krepo’s chair. Finally, jungle player “Thinkcard” will be standing in for Snoopeh.
Presumably the Visa issues should be resolved in time for Week 10, but this is certainly a set-back for an EG team which currently sits at a precarious seventh in the NA LCS. The upcoming Week 9 matches against CLG and Cloud 9 are crucial if they are to lift themselves out of a relegation position, so a lot of weight rests upon the new substitute’s shoulders.
