Fnatic and Millenium are now in the lower brackets of groups, while Invictus Gaming and KT Rolster Bullets proceed to the upper brackets after wiping out the European contendors.

iG vs. FNC
The first international showdown would be between two heavily slumping teams in a Chinese vs. European matchup. xPeke acquired a weaker version of his trademarked Kassadin, which bolstered his fame at the last IEM Katowice, but quickly was shown the meaning of pain when Zz1tai 1v1 dove him in the top lane. sOAZ was having trouble in his solo lane as well, making Invictus Gaming have a fiercely superior early game.
However, Fnatic were able to turtle up long enough and grab enough decisive fights in their favor that it would seem a comeback was very likely. Invictus Gaming continued to get baron, but a few times Fnatic were able to wipe the floor with Invictus Gaming in response. Fnatic held off impressively long for having a 4k gold deficit 15 minutes in, but eventually Invictus Gaming was able to break the turtle and take out Fnatic, sending them to the Loser's Bracket.
[M] vs. KTB
The second game would be a lot quicker and more dismal for the Europeans as Millenium faced off against KTB, who have been underwhelming in Masters. KTB have been training hard for two weeks invisibly, which made it hard for Millenium to study them before the game. Millenium ran a risky, squishy composition that was incredibly aggressive, but could not take advantage of the merits of the team composition. Again, the Europeans had a disadvantage early laning phase due to two flashes being blown immediately.
KT Rolster Bullets knew how to push a midgame advantage and came out on top in towers, ganks, and aggression. Only 18 minutes in, KT Rolster B were at the doorstep of Millenium's top lane inhibitor. The pace would not die down for KT Rolster Bullets as they continued onward with their superior rotations and managed to wipe the floor with Millenium, sending them to the Loser's Bracket.
