StarLadder announces LoL circuit

StarLadder, a prolific Dota 2 tournament outlet, has announced their involvement with League of Legends as an organized European league.

Together with Riot Games, StarLadder is set to launch both an amateur and a pro tournament.  StarLadder will consist of four seasons and expand into four divisions as it expands.  These divisions will be listed as "Star Series, Pro Series, Semi-pro Series, and Amauteur". 

While several teams are left to quality, the team invited have been Russia's most successful teams outside of Gambit Gaming which are RoX.Kis, DRAGON, Good Team Multigaming, and Team Empire.  The tournament is set to start on February 25th in a Round Robin setup.  The finals will be played on LAN in early April with a prize purse of $30,000.

First place will be able to bring home $15,000, 2nd place will bring home $7,500, 3rd place will bring home $5,000, and 4th place will bring home $2,500. The tournaments will feature a point system in which 3 points are awarded for win and 0 points are awarded for a defeat.  The amateur series is open to an infinite amount of teams who will fight for $2,000. The amateur circuit starts on March 3rd.
