SUPA HOT CREW XD, TCM Gaming, and Copenhagen Wolves continued to find wins on Day Two, but the last two matches were once again postponed due to European server errors.
European server errors continued to affect the promotion matches today, resulting in the postponement of the game between SUPA HOT CREW XD and TCM Gaming. Additionally, the game between Kiedys Mialem and Salade Tomate Oignon, which was well under way before server errors forced a long pause and the abrupt cancelation the broadcast, will have to be remade. To fit all matches into the cramped schedule, ESL will begin the broadcast three hours early tomorrow, and hopefully things will run smoothly, and slots into the Promotion Stage will be decided.
Before the European servers crashed, however, four games were played, including the match between Copenhagen Wolves and TCM Gaming, which many considered the most anticipated. Multiple predictions feature Copenhagen Wolves and TCM making their way into the LCS in the Spring and expected this match to be a close one. Despite the hype, however, Copenhagen Wolves made short work of TCM Gaming, giving the Wolves their second sweeping win of the Challenger Stage.
In the next game, SUPA HOT CREW XD struggled for their second win. Once again, they proved to be just a bit stronger than their competition, but just a bit stronger seems to be strong enough, as they are currently seated in second with a 2-0 score.
The third game was equally close. Surprisingly, Salade Tomate Oignon appeared as if they might come out victorious against group favorites, Copenhagen Wolves with their top lane Shyvana and jungle Yorick combo. The Danish team's strong objective control and decision making, however, allowed them to come back in what was, perhaps, the most exciting game of the Challenger Stage so far. This win also gauranteed the Copenhagen Wolves their spot in the Promotion Stage, and it's likely that LCS veteran teams now look toward Cowtard's squad with a great deal of aprehension.
While the Copenhagen Wolves' third game ensured their entrance into the next stage of the competition, Karont3's game spelled certain defeat. After their loss at the hands of the Copenhagen Wolves earlier today, TCM Gaming fought like they had something to prove, and they succeeded against the Spanish hopefuls. TCM Gaming now sits in third place in the Challenger Stage, while Karont3's LCS dreams will not come to fruition during the upcoming European Spring Split.
With seven matches down, eight still remain. Be sure to tune into ESL TV at 15:00 CET to catch the remaining games. Perhaps a miracle will occur, and the Challenger Stage will conclude without a hitch.
