Recent drama in China may prove to be destructivem bringing an end to World Elite.
After a recent disappointing 3rd place showing (By World Elite's standards) from the prodigious and original kings of the Chinese scene, the team's analyst who goes by the name of Aaron has left the team. Allegedly, he has also taken two of World Elite's team members with him. The team's coach Xiao Shou was the one to bring up the allegations, quoting this on his webio account:
Impossible? He said he was going on holiday; instead he took two players with him to a new team, not going through the proper proceedings. How’s that impossible? What? Who wants to leave? Go ask your beloved Aaron. How can he say, “They wanted to come with me, I had no choice”?
Although details are rather vague, it is possible that if the players did actually leave the team, they would possibly be in violation of their contracts. The rumors seem to point at the departed players being Fzzf and Mann (formerly ClearLove). While there's nothing to fully prove that this is going on internally, it's been sparking the most discussion of any League of Legends professional drama on all Chinese fan sites. World Elite didn't specify what was true or not, but they did show that internal conflict is a problem for the team right now:
Following WCG there have been some disturbances within the team; we are currently in the process of trying our best to work things out. Our hopes are the same as everyone else’s: whatever else happens we want to keep the same players together onstage in competition. Before official confirmation there’s no way to give you all the final news, but we’d like to thank everyone for your care and support.
While two members certainly don't destroy a team, there have been reports of Misay and Caomei potentially hanging up their mouse and retiring.
